Cozart’s Relief Effort Propels Bombers to 5-2 Win

Jordan Cozart had a stellar relief effort for the Bombers in the 5-2 win over the Madisonville Miners at League Stadium.

The game was tied at two with the Bombers batting in the bottom of the fifth when Philip Archer singled off of Carson Imes, driving in two runs.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Bombers tied things up at two. Dubois County scored one run when Alex Alders doubled with zero outs in the fourth inning.

The Bombers took the lead for good with two runs in the fifth inning.

Jordan Cozart earned the win for Dubois County. He pitched six innings, allowing zero runs, one hit, and striking out 11. Carson Imes took the loss for the Miners. He went five innings, giving up four runs, seven hits, and striking out one.

Ryan Gulledge started the game for the Bombers. He tossed three innings, allowing two runs, two hits, and striking out one.

The Dubois County Bombers had nine hits in the game. Roman Trujillo, Philip Archer, and Jackson Blevins each collected multiple hits for the Bombers. Blevins, Archer, and Trujillo each managed two hits to lead the Bombers.

The Bombers next home game will be Saturday, June 17th against Hoptown.  It will be ‘A League Of Their Own’ Night at League Stadium.  Cast members from the movie will be in attendance – Bitty Schram (Evelyn Gardner – the infamous cryer in the There’s No Crying in Baseball scene), Justin Scheller (Stilwell Gardner – the taunting little boy who annoyed Tom Hanks and the Peaches), and Ryan Olsen (Dollbody Kid – the kid who propositioned Geena Davis in the car)  will all be with us!  Gates will open at 4:30 for Kids’ Activities & Photo Ops.  The Peache vs Belles Rematch begins at 5:15.  The Bombers game begins at 7:00.
