Bombers Fall to Hoppers 6-1

The Dubois County Bombers fell last night to the league-leading Hopkinsville Hoppers by a score of 6-1.

The Bombers answered immediately, tying the game 1-1 in the top of the second on a pair of doubles by Joe Sturino and Rick Linton.

Hopkinsville then took the lead for good in the bottom of the third when Tyler Brophy scored after leading off the inning with a single and coming around on a sacrifice and a groundout.

The Hoppers added another pair of runs in each of the 6th and 7th innings.

Catcher Rick Linton (Muncie and Murray State) had a pair of doubles to lead the Bomber attack. Leadoff hitter and second baseman Joe Redburn (Newburgh and U. of Evansville) added a pair of singles.

Starter Devin Williams went 5 1/3 innings for the Bombers. He allowed 4 runs, 3 of them earned, in taking the loss. His record falls to 0-3.
