Bombers Hold Off Hoptown on Faith & Family Night

The Dubois County Bombers defeated the Hoptown Hoppers 6-4 on Faith & Family Night. The Bombers also recognized the 2021 4A Indiana State Champion Jasper Wildcats before the game.

Mason White opened the scoring with an RBI single in the bottom of the first. The Bombers followed up the first with a 3-run second inning. Hoptown scored one in the fourth and one in the sixth. Dubois County scored in the fifth and one in the seventh. The Bombers led 6-2 heading into the ninth inning.

The Hoppers mounted a fierce comeback in the top of the ninth, loading the bases and cutting the DC lead to 2. The Bombers sent RHP Carter Stamm to the mound to record the final out. Stamm, a native of Jasper, IN, recorded the save with a strikeout. Check it out below!

Last night’s game was the final meeting of the regular season between the Bombers and the Hoppers. The two teams split the series, with the home team winning each game.

The Bombers now have a record of 20-11. Dubois County sits 1.5 games ahead of Henderson in the North Division.

The Bombers next home game is against the Owensboro RiverDawgs. Tuesday’s game will be the fifth of six meetings between DC and Owensboro. The Bombers have won all four meetings thus far.
