Bombers Open With 11-7 Win

The Dubois County Bombers get the 2019 season started with great weather, a great crowd and a great 11-7 win over the Muhlenberg County Stallions.

Nick Parrish was the winning pitcher.  He allowed zero hits and zero runs over 3 innings, striking out 2.

Nick Ramanjulu took the loss for the Stallions. The win was earned despite allowing Muhlenberg County Stallions to score four runs in the ninth inning.

Though the Stallions got on the board first, the Bombers took over from there building their lead through the innings.  Three Bombers runs were scored in the 6th inning with Zuriel Collins, Chase Hug & Matt Joslin all driving in runs in the inning.  Two more runs were added in the 7th, then the Bombers hung on to get the win.

Dubois County collected 12 hits. Collins, Hug, and Easton Stewart each had multiple hits for the Bombers. Hug and Collins collected three hits each to lead the Bomber to victory in front of a crowd exceeding 1500.

The Bombers head to Henderson for their first away game tonight, then return to League Stadium on Sunday, June 2nd to take on the Fulton Railroaders.  Gates will open at 5:00.  Game begins at 6:00.  It will be Hoosier National Forest Night with Smokey Bear & Woodsy Owl.
