Bombers Ready For Big Home Stand

Bombers Ready For Big Home Stand

Starting July 11th, the Dubois County Bombers had 7 home games in 10 days. Through the first 3 games of their home stand, the Bombers are 1-2. Unfortunately, Wednesday’s loss to Henderson was a tough one.

The Henderson Flash came into League Stadium trailing the Bombers by 1 game in the standings. The Flash won 6-3, and took the lead in the North Division standings. The Bombers struck first with one run, then the Flash responded with 3 runs in the top of the second. Two of the three runs scored in the top of the second were scored off errors while the other was scored by walking in a run.

The Bombers made it 3-2 after Tucker Schank scored on a pass ball. Henderson put the game away in the fifth when they scored a 2 RBI single and went up 5-2. Each team would score one more time, giving us a 6-3.

Dubois County did, however, bounce back against the Owensboro RiverDawgs. The Bombers trailed 5-3 in the top of the ninth, and rallied to a 6-5 victory. That was the last meeting of the season between Dubois County and Owensboro. The Bombers took five of six from Owensboro, including winning every road game.

The Bombers have four home games coming up. They play Muhlenberg County on Friday and Saturday, Full Count on Sunday, and Muhlenberg County again next Tuesday evening. DC looks to avenge the last two games against the Stallions, as well as the big July 4th loss to Full Count.

The Hagedorn Family Band will be at the first Muhlenberg County game on Friday, July 16th. Let’s hope the Bombers can carry the momentum from the Owensboro comeback win and rock the house!
