The Bombers opened postseason play with a bang as they run-ruled the Owensboro RiverDawgs in game 1. DC’s offense went off last night, winning 13-3 over the River Dawgs.
Dubois County went on the attack from the get-go, plating 5 runs in the first 2 innings. Owensboro scored 2 in the sixth to make it 5-2, but it was to no avail. The Bombers plated 5 in the bottom of the sixth. Owensboro would go on to plate another run in the 7th.
Leading 10-3 in the bottom of the seventh, the Bombers put the game away. Ben Wilcoxson’s RBI double made it 11-3, then Wilcoxson scored off a sac fly. The game ended when Huntingburg, IN native Tucker Schank scored off a wild pitch. Because DC had a 10 run lead after 7, the game was called.
