Errors Prove Costly in 7-3 Loss to Fulton

The Dubois County Bombers were defeated by the Fulton Railroaders 7-3 last night. The Bombers committed many errors and struggled in run support.

The Railroaders scored one run in the first and fourth innings. Dubois County cut the 2-0 lead in half with a sacrifice groundout in the fourth. A throwing error, coupled with back-to-back RBI singles gave the Railroaders a 5-1 lead in the fifth inning. The Bombers scored two in the bottom of the eighth, making it 5-3.

The eighth inning gave the Bombers some momentum heading in the ninth. But, a costly error at first base cost the Bombers two runs and all but ended DC’s comeback bid. Dubois County finished the game with 6 errors, and those errors ultimately cost the Bomber’s in this one.

The Bombers have lost two consecutive games, but still hold a lead in the North Division. Dubois County remains in first following Henderson’s loss to Owensboro last night.

The Bombers have three consecutive road games against Hoptown, Henderson, and Hoptown again. The next home game for DC is on Sunday, July 11th when Hoptown comes to League Stadium for the fourth and final meeting of the season.

The theme for the game is Faith & Family Night so bring your friends and cheer on the Dubois County Bombers as they enter the home stretch!
