Hubbard’s Walk-Off Gives Chiefs Victory Over Bombers

It came down to the wire on Saturday, with Paducah Chiefs taking victory on a dramatic walk-off double in the late innings that sealed their victory over Dubois County Bombers. The game was tied at five with Paducah Chiefs batting in the bottom of the eleventh when Tyler Hubbard doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Dubois County Bombers scored three runs in the sixth inning, but Paducah Chiefs still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Dubois County Bombers came thanks to a single by Nolan Ramsey and a groundout by Payton Mattingly.

Paducah Chiefs got on the board in the first inning.  Blake Johnson homered on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Paducah Chiefs tied things up at five.  Andrew Lannonwas hit by a pitch, driving in a run.

Brodie Lenon got the win for Paducah Chiefs. He lasted one inning, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out two and walking zero.  Brady Bibbs and Isaiah Glidden entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Jacob Frankel took the loss for Dubois County Bombers. He surrendered one run on two hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out four.

Jacob Laws started the game for Paducah Chiefs. He surrendered three runs on eight hits over five and a third innings, striking out four Jack Anderson started the game for Dubois County Bombers. He surrendered four runs on seven hits over five and a third innings, striking out five.

Paducah Chiefs tallied one home run on the day. Johnson had a dinger in the first inning.

Paducah Chiefs tallied ten hits in the game.  John Mitchum, Nick Shumaker, and Brandon Kelly each racked up multiple hits for Paducah Chiefs.  Kelly, Shumaker, and Mitchum each collected two hits to lead Paducah Chiefs.

Dubois County Bombers scattered 13 hits in the game.  Nick Gonzales, Brad Fuhrhop, Mattingly, and Ramsey all collected multiple hits for Dubois County Bombers.
