Late HR Sinks Bombers in 5-2 Loss to Owensboro

In the penultimate regular season meeting between Owensboro and Dubois County, our North Division foes from across the Glover Cary Bridge came away with a 5-2 victory at League Stadium.

The RiverDawgs opened the scoring in the second with a solo home run. The Dawgs made it 2-0 in the fourth, but the Bombers responded with a run in the fifth. DC had many chances to tie the game and/or take the lead but struggled in run support all night.

With two strikes, two outs, and two men on base in the top of the sixth, the RiverDawgs hit a 3-run home run and put the game on ice. The Bombers scored one in the bottom of the sixth, but would not score again after and lost 5-2.

Last night’s loss to Owensboro was the Bombers first loss to the RiverDawgs this season. The two teams will meet on Thursday night for the final time this season.

The Bombers will be back in action tomorrow evening at League Stadium for a showdown with the Henderson Flash. This game has potential playoff positions on the line, as Henderson sits 1 game behind DC in the North Division.

Tonight’s game is a big one so get out to League Stadium and support the Bombers as they make the playoff push!
